Eyes

Eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, is a cosmetic procedure designed to improve the appearance of the eyelids by removing excess skin, fat, and muscle. It can be performed on the upper, lower, or both eyelids to enhance the eye area by reducing sagging, puffiness, and under-eye bags. This procedure not only rejuvenates the eyes, giving them a more youthful and refreshed look but can also improve vision if sagging skin impairs the line of sight. The surgery typically involves precise incisions that follow the natural lines of the eyelids, ensuring minimal visible scarring and a natural result. Recovery time varies, but patients generally return to normal activities within 1 to 2 weeks, with full results visible after several weeks as swelling subsides.

Non-incisional Eyelid Surgery

The non-incisional method creates natural eyelid folds without cutting the skin. It involves making small punctures and tying knots to form the desired crease based on facial proportions. This technique leaves no visible scars and offers quick recovery, producing a natural, well-defined fold. It's ideal for those with drooping eyelids due to aging, those who use eyelid tape or glue, or individuals with thin eyelids and minimal fat.

Partial Incision Double Eyelid Surgery

The hybrid eyelid surgery combines both incisional and non-incisional techniques. It's ideal for individuals with excess fat or sagging skin on the eyelids, and those concerned about scarring after surgery. In this procedure, small incisions (about 3-4mm) are made at two or three points along the desired crease line, and the upper skin is sutured to the dermis layer. This method offers results that fall between the incisional and non-incisional methods in terms of surgery time, scarring, effectiveness, and recovery period.

Incisional Double Eyelid Surgery

This surgical method is ideal for those with drooping eyelids, thick fatty layers, ptosis, asymmetrical eyes, or those seeking well-defined eyelid creases without looseness. The procedure involves making incisions in the eyelid to create the desired crease, while removing excess fat, muscle, subcutaneous tissue, and sagging skin. The levator muscle is then sutured directly to the dermis layer, resulting in natural-looking but sharp eyelid folds.

Pre- and Post-Surgery Guidelines

Before surgery

If you have conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid issues, epilepsy, or mental health concerns, please inform us in advance. It's essential to discuss any allergies or adverse reactions to medications, and to disclose any past surgeries or treatments related to the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, or brain. If you've had a recent illness, inform us as it may affect your surgery. Bring all medications you're taking on the day of surgery and consult the clinic regarding usage. Avoid aspirin, hormones, herbal medicines, and vitamins a week before surgery. If your surgery coincides with your menstrual period, let us know, as it may increase bruising and swelling.

After surgery

Swelling after surgery typically lasts for about 2-3 days and gradually subsides. To aid recovery, it's important to avoid smoking and alcohol for at least 4 weeks. Take prescribed medications at the scheduled times, keep the surgical area clean, and avoid getting it wet. Refrain from strenuous activities, and if you experience sudden pain or unusual symptoms, contact your doctor immediately. Regular follow-up visits to monitor your recovery are essential.
